WARNING: Suboxone is a class III, controlled substance and can become addicting. It too is considered an opioid.
Weekly, medical visits are required during the opioid detoxification and maintenance program to ensure that opioid dependency on Suboxone does not develop. The program is intended for those that wish to help themselves be free of all opioids, including Suboxone.
This program is not intended for those that wish to continue their addiction and support it with Suboxone.
Substitution of one controlled substance for another does not resolve the problem.
Keep all prescriptions in their original bottles. Opioid Addiction is a medical disease of both the mind and the body. Medical treatment is needed to treat the physical dependency, and medical treatment is needed to treat the psychological dependency. To get remission of this disease, both physical, and psychological dependencies, must be properly treated. Get help with the psychological dependency. Women that are pregnant cannot use Suboxone. Subutex is prescribed for pregnant women or nursing mothers only! Suboxone Film is prescribed
No Methadone, alcohol, Benzodiazepines: Valium, Ativan, Xanax, Librium, or Klonopin. You will never get off of opioids if you do not have a focus. Find it and do not take your eyes off of it!
Stop making excuses and remember that this disease will stay with you for as long as you want it to.
Suboxone will treat your body addiction, the physical cravings will stop, but it will not treat the psychological, mental component.
Seek help to change your psychological addiction.
You will have the disease of opioid addiction for the rest of your life, even when you are off of Suboxone therapy, but you will NOT be an addict unless you want to be.
No Ultram (Tramadol)ducate yourself, it is never too late.
Take away your excessive "free time" and make something out of this life.
STOP falling PREY to people that do not care whether you live or die.
Forget your mistakes, but remember what they taught you!
Bring with you to your initial office visit, a hand written statement/letter explaining why you wish to enter the detox program and why you believe that you will succeed this time. List any and all treatment centers that you may have been in, any incarcerations, ie...jails or prisons, and list all the drugs that you use, how you use, why you use, how much your habit cost daily, list any tragic events that you have experienced, any sexual abuse as an adult or child, any mental or physical abuse as an adult or child, and any other information that can help me understand how you got to where you are at. I am here to help you so be honest.
